From tubules to tastebuds: LTC’s unforgettable BBQ bash!

London Tubular Centre members and their families came together for an unforgettable BBQ gathering at the lovely garden of their esteemed leader, Prof. Walsh to celebrate his recent promotion. The event, held on a sunny afternoon, witnessed laughter, camaraderie, and a mouthwatering, multi-cultural feast contributed by all the members.

As the tantalizing aroma of grilled delights filled the air, we indulged in a delectable spread of marinated sausages, steaks, börek, fresh salad, cherry jam cheesecake, cocktails, and delightful homemade cuisine. Our talented bioengineer, Alessandra, transferred her practical lab skills to kitchen, and surprised everyone with her culinary artistry, presenting a delectable spinach pie adorned with the Centre’s logo on the top. Also, our team secretly prepared a unique gift -- a stunning periodic table featuring real elements to Prof. Walsh, as a testament to his passion for science and supportive leadership that motivated every member in the centre.

Beyond scientific endeavors, the event fostered personal connections, as colleagues shared stories and our two very junior research fellows formed their own joyous adventures. Prof Walsh’s warm hospitality left an indelible mark on everyone present, making it a cherished memory for the London Tubular Centre community.
